.........is
not a biological illness
.........is NOT merely a chemical imbalance in the brain
.........is learned and created by the way we interact
with our environment
.........is a strong emotion
.........is a state of locked focused attention which
leads to negative thinking
.........tells us that something is wrong and we are somehow
stuck
.........is an emotion which limits thinking and leads
to an emotionally inward focus
.........in most cases is NOT difficult to overcome
The

needs and resources that human beings have evolved over
millions of years. It has been the subject of major

Cycle
of Depression
Depression
commonly involves a recognizable cycle of mood and behaviour
(see
article).
Typically, someone with an already pessimistic outlook
may begin to catastrophise a difficulty they are currently
experiencing. They may also have a tendency to blame
themselves when things go wrong. They emotionally introspect
which leads to excessive dreaming which in turn leads
to tiredness upon waking and an inability to engage
with everyday matters resulting in a lack of motivation.
As the days go by they gradually withdraw into themselves,
eradicating purpose and meaning from their life.
